NaNo 2019 Success!

Okay, so this isn't really related to Farah at all, and it is a little bit late seeing as November ended two days ago. I did managed to finish NaNoWriMo this year after starting ten days late! Not much news other than yes, I STILL am working on writing... it's just been difficult as of late.

NaNo 2018

I just wanted to take a brief moment say that I am participating in this year's NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month for those of you who don't know what that is. It may not be work done on my main novel, but it will help me get back into the grove of working on writing every day. To give you a bit of an idea of what I'm working on this month, you can visit The Gates of Ira .

Status Update: 6/20/18

I just wanted to make a quick post stating that I HAVE been working on the Messenger lately. Currently I've "finished" up to chapter 5 and am currently making progress on 6. I use quotes here knowing there might be some grammar and spelling corrections to make once I have someone read through them. But that's where I'm at. So, to sum up: Chapters 1-5 done, waiting for grammar and spelling notes for final edit. Currently working on Chapter 6.

Status Update: 5/31/18

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I've been trying to get myself refocused on my writing with re-reading what I've written so far and making a few minor tweaks (mostly spelling and grammar errors), but hopefully I'll be in a much better position to start posting things again here soon.

World Building: Faran Foliage #1

So I know I haven't been updating here very often as of late, but life has been very busy with four kids and the holidays. This really isn't the place to complain about issues though. You want progress reports or information on the world of Farah. Today, you're in luck. It may not be terribly exciting, but it's somewhat important to the world. What is this topic, you might ask? Plants. Foliage. Greenery. Why would I write about this? Well, Farah is somewhat of an alien world, and plants can do a lot in terms of the look and feel of a given location. But that's only half of why I would want to write about them. In the real world, plants play an important role in our every day lives. They provide food, medicine, and building materials. While they may seem to be something to be regulated to the background of our lives, they are in reality part of the forefront of almost everything we have and essential to our survival. The same is true on Farah. As such, I

Glossary Updated

Just a quick notice: I updated the glossary with new items. You can read it here . I will be continuing to add new things as I continue writing, so make sure to check back.

Faran Locations: Vivaldi, Amroin

Population: 9,540 (As of the opening of The Messenger) Population Diversity Breakdown: 41% Human, 29% Elves, 12% Gray, 8% Orcan, 10% Other Located on the western coast of Amroin, Vivaldi was one a booming fishing village. It hides along a bay hidden behind a set of large stone cliffs, with a large inlet through the cliffs being the only way to reach the Magge Sea. A jetty reaching out to the sea makes traversing through the gap fairly easy for most seagoing vessels, and the bay is relatively calm thanks to the cliffs protecting it from the weather. The town is protected by a pair of batteries atop the cliffs on either side of the gap, occupied by Amroin military. The long range guns have seen some action taking on Ogsan forces as of late, but has managed to either sink or chase off any ships that dare come within range. Because of the height of the cliffs, the batteries have a far greater range than any ships wishing to take them out, and thus has been highly successful in wa
