Located on the western coast of Amroin, Vivaldi was one a booming fishing village. It hides along a bay hidden behind a set of large stone cliffs, with a large inlet through the cliffs being the only way to reach the Magge Sea. A jetty reaching out to the sea makes traversing through the gap fairly easy for most seagoing vessels, and the bay is relatively calm thanks to the cliffs protecting it from the weather.

The town is protected by a pair of batteries atop the cliffs on either side of the gap, occupied by Amroin military. The long range guns have seen some action taking on Ogsan forces as of late, but has managed to either sink or chase off any ships that dare come within range. Because of the height of the cliffs, the batteries have a far greater range than any ships wishing to take them out, and thus has been highly successful in warding on attacks.

A military base built into the hill leading up the southernmost battery supports some of the area's remaining agricultural and fishing businesses. The small regiment there is manned with around two hundred men and women, made up mostly of humans, elves, and grays. Many of these are volunteers whom maintain and operate the batteries, but there are also many snipers that also maintain watch on the waters below.

Ogsan forces have much more success simply taking out any vessels coming or going through the bay, thus cutting off many fishermen from their livelihoods and thus weakening the town. Vivaldi's docks have been relatively quiet for months now, and the only fishing to be done is limited to the bay and around the jetty.

Economy

Before the war, Vivaldi not only operated as a fishing hub, but also took cargo vessels and routed their goods to and from the neighboring towns of Glory's Gate, Pan Song, and Dail. That business has all but died completely, as much of Amroin's imports and exports have been stalled due to Ogsa's superior navy patrolling the waters off the coast.

There are some manufacturing jobs available in the area, though these are mostly small businesses with a focus on either local commerce or military weaponry. Most businesses focus on providing goods that either support the war effort or attempt to make up for the lack of international trade shipments.

Outside of town is largely used for food production. Orchards and farms dot the landscape for miles, bringing their goods into the downtown market on an almost weekly basis. Vivaldi and Glory's Gate combined are the largest producer of wheat and other grains on the island nation of Amroin, aside from several smaller communities on the eastern coastline.

Despite the town has steadily declining economy and the inability to go out to sea in the past few years, many locals still man the docks. Businesses in the down have closed or changed their business models in order to satisfy the demands of the base's soldiers, but sailors and fishermen still occupy the waterfront, either fishing the bay or doing odd jobs to keep things going once the war ends.

Points of Interest

Erlis Bay
The large pristine bay is home to Vivaldi's docks, which is capable of housing nearly 100 fishing vessels and smaller cargo ships. To the north of the docks there is the ever popular sand beach, and to the south is the Amroin military base. Across the bay is the gradual incline leading up to the top of the cliffs, which overlook the Magge Sea.

Vivaldi Market and Erlis Square
Located near the docks, the open air market is a place to display and sell various forms of produce, breads, meat and, of course, a huge variety of fish. At the center of the market is Erlis Square, which features a large stone gazebo, a fountain, and areas to sit and eat things purchased from the food stalls. The war has caused some of the shops to close, and tourism has decrease to a trickle, but it still manages to be an important fixture for the locals.

West Cliffs Trail
Following the western cliffs that made Amroin famous, the West Cliffs Trail leads from the northern shores of Amroin all the way south to Fanhomte, just west of the capital city of Urrat. The West Cliffs Trail follows the entirety of the western coastline, typically along the tops or along a path cut into the face of those cliffs. It is fairly treacherous at points, and is typically only for those traveling on foot. Vivaldi acts as a half-way point to those wanting to experience the entire trail. Currently, the trail is used almost exclusively to Amroin military patrols on the lookout for Ogsan ships, or to foot messengers taking information from one battery placement to the next.
