Sex: Male
Age: Mid 30s
Description
Mercher stands at around six feet in height, having a fit build. He has shaggy brown hair and green eyes. Usually sporting a full beard, Mercher will occasionally trim himself up when the tools to do such is available, which with his profession is rare.
He has a singular style of clothing, wearing a brown leather long coat with hood. While he usually leaves the hood down, he will use it during heavy rain or snow. This coat not only keeps him warm, but provides him with a number of pockets which he uses to keep his correspondence dry. He never uses backpacks or messenger bags, as this allows him to have ease of movement during travel.

Overview
Mercher is a highly skilled wanderer, who operates as a messenger on the island nation of Amroin, particularly in the northern regions. He is proficient with reading and writing, a rare talent for wanderers, which makes his talents even more desirable by people wishing to send correspondence. While civilians do seek out his services, Mercher almost exclusively offers his talents to Amroin military members and their families.
He is known to be extremely quick with his deliveries, thanks in part to his trusty horse, Pratsu. This is also because he limits the amount of letters he carries, so as to not weigh him down or to make too many stops. Because of this, letters and packages of a time sensitive nature are his primary source of income, but he prefers to take messages for wounded or dying servicemen.
Very little is known about his past, though it is assumed that he is native to southern Amroin. He refuses to speak of where he came from, which is not terribly unusual for a wanderer. What is known is that he is extremely loyal to his country, despite being unwilling to work directly within its military. As such, it is rumored that he is a deserter, though without knowing his real name it would be difficult to prove. Technically he could still be conscripted into fighting, but the service he provides proves in as far as delivering communications is too invaluable to the generals that are willing to hire him.
Despite his skills and his preference for helping the injured, he is not well liked among the Amroin military leadership. This isn't so much a clash of personalities as it is a dislike for wanderers. They tolerate his presence mostly because of his work ethic, that and normal communications channels are notoriously slow due to lack of manpower and focusing on 'efficient' communications techniques rather than speed.
The only people that count him among their friends are the Danahans, an Elvin family whom he has provided some financial and emotional support after the loss of their patriarch, Tailon. Noniea, Tailon's widow, appreciates Mercher's help, though is reluctant to accept too much from him, especially since he is so quiet about his past.
As with most wanderers, Mercher trusts very few people. Yet he is compassionate and understanding, especially with those who experience loss. While he seems serious about his work for the most part, he has been known to crack a joke every once in a while when people least expect it.
Skills and Talents
While he is mostly known among the soldiers of Amroin for his skills with transcribing and delivering messages, Mercher is known to have superb horseback riding skills. His horse, Pratsu, is extremely well trained, and is largely responsible for his speedy delivery times. Mercher has at times claimed that he trained Pratsu himself. That, combined with a thorough knowledge of the roads and paths, Mercher can get vital information to where it needs to go quickly.
He also is more than capable of defending himself. He carries a magazine fed combat pistol at all times, which he has holstered on his right hip. Seeing as he has rarely been seen entering combat situations, it is unknown how well he can use the weapon. However, he keeps the pistol in extremely good working order, and has been seen cleaning and maintaining the weapon with expert level skill. The question remains as to whether or not he needs the weapon, as it is also rumored that he is a skilled martial artist as well.
That said, no one has ever witnessed him in combat, let alone need to use a weapon. In fact, he seemed to wish to avoid a fight if he can help it.
Rumors
While little is known about Mercher's past, rumors among certain military personnel tend to fly. One such rumor involves Mercher having been a member of the AEG (Amroin Elite Guard.) Another such rumor involves him having murdered a man in cold blood. But these sorts of things are not unusual for a wanderer, and are in fact pretty typical, even with wanderers who are not skilled in such things.
